 ESMBA Double Rinks Tournament – Melton Mowbray, Sunday 1st March 2026


A full day of competitive action for Kent at this year’s ESMBA Double Rinks Championship in Melton Mowbray.


 Kent B – Group Stage Summary

Players: Thomas Coles, Amber Gardner, Shane Hogben, Grace Doorey, Julian Scales, Paula Scales, Tom Constable, Alan Harwood


Kent B faced a very challenging group featuring Dorset, Hampshire and Herefordshire. Despite committed performances across all sessions, they were unable to progress to the knockout stages.

A tough draw, but valuable experience gained for the squad.


Kent A – From Group Winners to Finalists

Players: Jody Frampton, Richard Stagg, Michael Doorey, Danny Hogben, Cliff Henry, Gary Allard, Tim Harwood, Linda Wynn


Kent A delivered an excellent group-stage performance:

  • Won all three matches

  • 6 points

  • +45 shots

This strong showing secured top spot in the group and a place in the semi‑final, where they faced West Sussex.


 Semi-Final

Kent A 24 – 9 West Sussex A dominant display saw Kent comfortably book their place in the final.


Meanwhile, Hampshire defeated Hertfordshire 30–18 in the other semi-final.

Final


Kent A 13 – 24 Hampshire

Kent battled hard in the championship match, but Hampshire proved too strong on the day, leaving Kent as runners‑up in this year’s Inter County Double Rinks Championship.


A strong showing from both squads, with Kent A reaching the final and Kent B competing well in a difficult group.
