📣 Match Report — Weekend of Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th September 2026

🔵 Kent Castles vs East Sussex — Saturday 26th September (Away at Hailsham)

Kent Castles got off to a flying start in their first ICC match of the season, securing a well‑earned victory on tricky mats.

Final Score:

  • Kent Castles: 33 points, 239 shots

  • East Sussex: 7 points, 151 shots

🗣 Comments from Gary Allard, Castles Manager: “There were some excellent performances today on tricky mats. It’s very hard to pick an outstanding performer — it was an all‑round team victory. One highlight on my mat: we were 2 down with just enough room to roll a bowl through the gap. Up steps Grace Doorey… bang, in the ditch, holding 4.”

⭐ Standout Scores:

  • Singles: Jody Frampton — 22–06 win

  • Triples: Tim Harwood, Alan Plowman & Mo Staple — 22–08 win

Gary also added: “I’d like to thank my Captain, Cliff Henry, for leading us with his talk before we kicked off. Vice‑Captain Danny Hogben for keeping his eyes on and advising some of our new players. Our singles, J. Frampton & M. Doorey, for offering support and guidance to our newer players. A big thank you to Heather Harwood for doing the cards and admin. At the moment we are a good team — but I feel we will become a great team.”

📣 Match Report — Kent Hops vs Hampshire Sunday 27th September 2026 — Away at Winchester

Kent Hops travelled to Winchester on Sunday to face Hampshire in their first ICC match of the season. It proved to be a tough encounter against a strong Hampshire side.

Final Score:

  • Kent Hops: 12 points, 163 shots

  • Hampshire: 28 points, 214 shots

🗣 Comments from Bob Craig, Hops Manager: “Not the result we were hoping for against a strong Hampshire side. We weren’t able to pick up any of the bonus points on the day. Things will improve as the team settles, as we have a lot of new players within the squad.”

A challenging start, but plenty of positives to build on as the team continues to grow together.
