 Triples – England Finish as World Runners‑Up

Jason McLean (Hampshire), Michael Doorey (Kent), Jason Woods (Norfolk)

The English triple produced an outstanding campaign from start to finish.

A dominant group performance saw them finish top, securing a place in the knockout rounds.

Quarter-Final

England 13 – 10 Norway (Ferdinard Frantzen) A composed finish ensured safe passage into the semi-finals.

Semi-Final

England 12 – 11 Wales A thrilling, high‑quality contest edged by the English trio.

Final

England (Doorey/McLean/Woods) 10 – 12 England (Pye/Pye/Smith) An all‑England final, with the Norfolk/Cheshire triple taking the title. Michael Doorey and teammates finish as World Silver Medallists.


Fours – England Claim Bronze

Morgan Warnes (Norfolk), Danny Hogben (Kent), Gary Best (Norfolk), Jody Frampton (Kent)

Another strong showing from an England rink featuring two Kent players.

A superb group campaign saw them progress confidently into the quarter-finals.

England (Frampton’s four) 11 – 3 England (Stanton/Knight/Riley/Thomas – Dorset) A commanding win over the other England four.

Semi-Final

England 2 – 8 Wales (Michael John) A tough encounter where Wales proved too strong.

3rd/4th Play-Off

England 13 – 5 Ireland (Jamie Glackin) A clinical performance secured the bronze medal.
